The BFA Semester

My final semester of college is here and its time for my Gallery Exhibition.
Im currently working with found objects ( mostly mechanical or electronic) and disassmbling them to use the parts as somthing new. I recently took a 2cycle scooter motor and converted it to an air powered engine. This could theoretically be run on steam if I replaced the air compressor with a boiler.
This convergence of old and new technology is something i have been really interested in. Steam punk is one of the words that always comes up when describing this type of work. I'm going to research steam punk machines more and see what i can find.

Sheet Metal Sphere

This piece was the last of a 3 set i made of these style pieces.

It is the largest of the three and has a more modern metal feel to it. Both the stand and the sphere have a slightly worn or used feel to them. Im still not set on the glaze for this yet
